Duke Pantarei | Tales of Vesperia

(mostly headcanon-)

1. Duke doesn't use the fact he was from a powerful family anymore, but he did use it to be admitted into the knights early.

2. Duke isn't his name, its a nickname from his brigade. "Our duke" came from that being his title (after his parents died), and with people having enough trouble pronouncing his name, he uses it instead.

3. Elucifur wanted him to keep peace for their world/protect all living things, and this is the only reason he didn't do something worse than stealing Dein Nomos after the Empire betrayed them.

4. He's actually 38 (turned 40 in the bubble). He's just one of those people who hits that "And now you don't look any older" grace period.

5. Alexei wasn't quite his friend, back in the knight days, but they got along well enough.

6. Duke probably should be a bit scared of heights, as Elucifur was flying when they were shot down, but with happiness he got with flying with his friend, he feels enough anger at humans for taking it away that he forgets to be uneasy. Flying on his own is a different pot of emotions.

7. He was never good at emotions, but he's gotten worse after Elucifur died.

8. He is very sure he is a rather terrible person.

9. Attraction isn't something he realizes based on physical things. He's really more interested based on how smart/how much he loses time by talking with them.

10. He likes his hair long, despite people getting confused about him. At least, he's pretty sure people get confused about which gender he is because of his hair.

11. He knows both the male and female parts to many of the court dances - he got tired of trying to explain that no, he wasn't a girl.

12. While he does take care of his vision, his sight isn't the best anyway. Colors are washed out and blurred together sometimes. He mostly keeps track of people with his magic.

13. He understands animals, but it isn't some odd sort of telepathy. For some reason, their noises (barks, whines, growls, chirps) make as much - if not more - sense than human languages.

14. Duke doesn't really have many fears, but the one that is biggest is that he won't be able to protect those he cares about. And what he might do if he felt that sort of loss again.

15. He would have been very fine with erasing humanity from his world, even if it meant he would die. He's human too, after all, and despite how he tries, he might cause problems for the planet eventually.

Guy Cecil | Tales of the Abyss

1. Trained in maritime rescue, aka he knows his ways around swimming and the safety behind it, as well as how to rescue someone who is in distress out in the water.

2. Fun fact about the above: he can rescue women just as easily as men.

3. Guy has gynophobia, a triggering phobia which prevents him from being close or touching women without becoming very frightened, uncomfortable, clammy, weak in the knees.... Hell, he will pass out or scream if it gets played around with too much. He does not know exactly why he is like this and frankly, he doesn't always like to talk about it. Be nice, ladies.

4. Guy loves fish and fontech (fonic technology). Any kind of fish, any kind of tech. He'll go a little crazier about the latter, though.

5. To fly an aircraft would be one of Guy's dreams.

6. Guy had an older sister, 9 years his senior, named Mary/Marybelle. He does not talk about her much.

7. Guy has been a babysitter/mom/dad/sibling for almost eight years running now. He may not always adore the job, but it's made him fond around children.

8. In Vatheon, Guy builds music boxes and small trinkets for use around his house and the host club.

9. In Vatheon, Guy lives in an apartment for two, the empty room containing all the belongings of his best friend, only touched on occasion to make sure they don't disappear. Every once in a while he will remake the bed. There's a jacket from said friend that remains folded and unwashed amongst his own clothes.

10. Once a week, Guy goes up the island, writes a small note onto a rock for every close CR that has vanished, and adds them to a small pile in one of the ruined buildings. If one were to explore one of the smaller buildings, there's several medium sized piles of small rocks, all with notes in the Fonic language. Each pile is a different type of stone.

11. Guy is horrific at using magic and would probably kill himself if he tried. He actually is rather embarrassed by this!

12. Guy grew up with a man who loved flowers, and often tries to keep flowers of some nature in his own apartment as a reminder of his old friend. The scent of fresh blossoms might linger if one were to meet him.

13. Guy has a very limited artistic flair and can barely sing. Hold a tune? Sure, in a nice mid-tenor, but don't ask him to sing anything special. Considering how important music is in his world, this is slightly embarrassing. But he'll still hum while he works, especially songs his sister, Van, or Pere taught him, little songs Luke made up as a kid, or songs Zelda has sung or played.

14. Guy and his family used to have wavy blonde hair of considerable length. If his history had been different, Guy's air may have stayed a little thicker and longer, keeping the wave that he and his sister shared. But the losses he endured did a number on him, even in subtle ways; as soon as he was able to handle a knife, he chopped his own hair to pieces as a way to stop himself from thinking of his family and his sister too much. He was fairly young, and t too time for him to heal. But he never let his air grow back to its original state, and for as messy as it may aeppear, it still gives him definition as a lone survivor trying to cope and stay hidden.

15. When it comes to animals, Guy has three favorites. A cat, who is spoiled but basically takes care of itself otherwise; a dog, which is about the most active and mutual serving relationship he could ever have here's a good boy that's right you're terrific wrestling foreverrrrr; and a rappig. He blames Peony, but they're lovable and well behaved. Just messy.

1.) Death the Kid doesn't share a sleep pattern with "normal people"; he sleeps for about four hours every afternoon.

2.) Being "crazy about symmetry" is literally built into Kid's genes; as a "fragment of Lord Death", and to borrow from Lovecraft (which the writer of Soul Eater professedly enjoys), he's a kind of Elder God of Order.

3.) Kid is, at once, the most and least (visibly) emotional main character of his series. That is, he's really stoic -- except when he isn't. (/helpful!!!!)

4.) He is the proud owner of a (rather fat and spoiled) Eevee named Pip. Pip is a palindrome. Given that palindromes read the same way whether you start from the left or right, and Kid's affection for symmetry, you can guess who named him.

5.) Pip's original owner (or rather, discoverer) was his Weapon, Patti Thompson (Liz Thompson's sister).

6.) For all his stoicism, Kid is fiercely protective of his friends, even those he has deemed friends without their knowledge.

7.) Kid was once captured by a man who wanted to collect everything unique in the world, including Death's own son. He trapped him in a magical book where each chapter was patterned after a sin, like the levels of Hell in Dante's Inferno. Kid was also tortured during this time by his captor's minion, who was jealous of the attention Kid won.

8.) Death the Kid is named after both his father and possibly Billy the Kid, a famous gunslinger of the "Old West". The writer of Soul Eater is weird, okay.

9.) Kid's former captivity contributes to why he's so ill at ease in Vatheon.

10.) In spite of his "exile", he feels obligated to protect the domain in which he resides, even if Vatheon is a glorified cage/lab.

11.) Death the Kid and Dirk Strider's assigned "Roles" in their respective canon are polar opposites. Their rivalry is less about winning so much as cultivating in each side an opponent that will perpetually challenge the other.

12.) Kid's best cross-fandom friends include trolls and the son of Satan.

13.) Death the Kid is an asexual.

14.) He is a vegetarian, as he refuses to consume anything with a soul.

15.) Death the Kid has an older brother. Not even he knows this. (Yet.)

Devit ✘ D.Gray-man

1. Devit and his brother make their own clothes with their Materialize ability... that combined with general Noah weirdness is how you get J-Rockers in Victorian Europe.

2. He can't stand spicy food. It's one of the only things that he and Jasdero disagree about.

3. Like the other members of his 'family' he was a street kid before he awakened as a Noah.

4. He never went to formal school. After becoming a Noah, Road and Tyki Mikk taught him how to read and write.

5. He doesn't wear underpants. Ever. Did you think he could fit them under THOSE pants?

6. He's honestly not THAT evil. He does what the Millennium Earl tells him to do, and does he does enjoy fucking with the exorcists... but he's still a teenage kid and he's just as happy screwing around doing dumb boy stuff.

7. Even if he seems to be getting used to it, he still desperately misses his brother and the rest of the Noah. This ties in with his position as the Noah of 'Bonds'

8. He really loves makeup. He's probably having the time of his life finding out about all the different types of modern cosmetics available (coming from the Victorian era, the options back then were a little limited in color and variety).

9. He is well aware that he is one skinny ass fucker. He's been trying to bulk up for a while but he's the type that just never seems to gain an ounce.

10. Like other Noah he is perfectly capable of shifting his skin tone to an actual normal human color. However, he prefers to stay gray because he is all about appearances and likes looking really different from the normal.

11. He will NEVER have a left leg on his pants. He hates the left pent leg and has a vendetta against it. He really favors a rather asymmetrical aesthetic in general anyways.

12. He's been trying hard to figure out how to use Materialize on his own, he doesn't know when if ever he;ll actually manage it though.

13. Out of all the other Noah Lulu Bell terrifies him the most.

14. Rin is Devit's personal chef. Okay no, not really. But Devit wishes this was true.

15. When it gets warmer out he will wear even less then he already does. You have been warned.

Anna Kushina | K (Project Murder Feels)

1. Her first meeting with Tatara Totsuka, she told him he would die if he stayed around Mikoto.
2. Colorblind but for the color red, and things close (like dark pink and some orange shades). She likes red food better simply because it isn't shades of grey.
3. At age 6, she lost both parents in a car crash.
4. She has powers that resulted in her being 'hospitalized' for 'studying a brain problem'. She told her parents that she didn't want to go back to the hospital, and that car crash happened on the way home.
5. At age 7, she met Mikoto and the rest of HOMRA.
6. Not too long before she turned 8, Anna's aunt (who was her guardian) lost all memories of Anna. Anna becomes part of HOMRA after that.
7. She is a Red Clansmen, but has no physical mark.
8. She knows what drowning feels like, and burns severe enough to turn her skin black and red.
9. Anna convinced Izumo and Tatara to let her keep a horse without telling them what the stray animal was.
10. Her first week in Vatheon, she was only not in the same room as Mikoto when either of them had to use a bathroom.
11. If she becomes too emotionally stressed - be it from nightmares or hearing a terrible truth she didn't want to hear - all the things she knows and keeps inside will come boiling out - directly into other people's minds.
12. She is a 'Clairvoyant' or a 'psychic'. She sees and takes in the truth of the world, can find a person from a photograph in a city that is based off of Shibuya, and read minds both deeply and casually.
13. Her bond with Mikoto makes her find next to him the most comfortable place ever. "It's warm next to you. Its the only warm place."
14. She knew what would happen to Mikoto before Izumo told her what had happened to him. She's connected to her King, after all.
15. Fifteen minutes before her 11th birthday, Tatara Totsuka was killed by the Colorless King. The only crying Anna did was when she was holding Mikoto.

Shiro Fujimoto | Ao no Exorcist

Mostly canon, with a couple headcanon things because I couldn't get to 15 on canon alone.

1. He only sleeps six hours a night.
2. His hobbies are collecting dirty books, cleaning his glasses, and naps. (no seriously canon actually said that)
3. He used to smoke a lot, but after he adopted Rin and Yukio he quit.
4. So far, he's the only exorcist shown in canon to use all five different methods of killing demons.
5. He knows Judo.
6. He knows bits and pieces of other languages (German, English, and Latin primarily), but doesn't know any them well enough to be considered fluent. Latin is the one he knows the best, but it's only because he had to memorize the entire bible for his exorcist duties.
7. He has actually been grey-haired for a long time now.
8. He has a habit of adopting lost kids and teenagers (and sometimes adults too).
9. Pretty much every exorcist under the age of 40 who went through True Cross Academy had Shiro as a teacher. That's part of why he's so popular, he's a second-dad to a lot of people.
10. For as much as he talks about loving hot-looking women, Shiro is never shown with a girlfriend or wife.
11. Even though he's the Paladin, and thus the top-ranked exorcist, he'd rather solve problems through words than immediately attack any troublemaking demons. He tries to only use violence if any humans are in immediate danger.
12. His birthday is May 10th, and he's 49 years old.
13. He's a shorty mc short short at only 177 cm tall. Seriously, Yukio is taller than him.
14. His two closest friends in Vatheon (Mephisto and Stein) are responsible for most of the stress in his life.
15. When he was a kid, he acted a lot like Rin. That's why he and Rin get into arguments so much.

1. Maka's parents were 18 when she was born; it's entirely possible she was conceived while they were still in school

2. Given that they were poor students when they were getting married and their daughter was about to be born, Spirit only had enough money to buy a cheap wedding ring with a "protection spell" on it from an old peddler woman, so the story goes. He gave this ring to Maka before he left for the moon mission. She wears it on a chain around her neck in Vatheon.

3. Her favorite color is red

4. She likes listening to a lot of genres of techno (folk in the dub of the anime)

5. Her birthday for RP purposes is January 15. Given that her series started in 2003~2004 and she was about 13 when it started, that makes her actual birthdate around 1990~1991 (though presently in the series she's about 15)

6. Her favorite book is Dark Side of the Moon (yes I'm serious)

7. Her mom is Japanese, making her half.

8. Despite Ohkubo's art style of making everyone beanpoles she's actually pretty muscular. At the very least her legs could probably break your bones.

9. There was actually a canon instance of genderbending and she's pretty damn kawaii as a dude. Albeit Ohkubo's art style is still lazy and moe.

10. You think her not knowing how to take compliments is some cute exaggeration but no literally no one has anything nice to say about her in canon. It all pertains to her academics, anything about her appearance is just ".........../stare...CAN WE GET SOME OTHER GIRL IN HERE PLEASE"

15. Despite being a nerd, Maka is actually surprisingly fashionable. She's just not all up to go shopping all the time out of prudence. She especially likes cute clothes.

1. Rin likes to sleep upwards of 11 to 12 hours at night, and is prone to napping often when he doesn't meet this quota.

2. Though his mother and grandfather's family name is Egin and his adopted father's family name is Fujimoto, Rin (and Yuki) was given the name Okumura. Okumura (奥村) roughly translates to "secluded/hidden village" and was likely given by Shiro to the twins in order to further hide their true identity. Rin (燐) also translates to "Phosphorus", which comes from the Greek meaning "light barer", which in Latin translates out to Lucifer.

3. Incidentally even after a year in Vatheon, Rin still hasn't figured out how to properly write his name in Kanji. He writes it in Hiragana instead.

4. Rin has a total of nine siblings. Yukio is his twin brother, and in canon only three other half brothers via Satan have been shown - Mephestopheles (King of Space and Time), Amiamon (Earth) and Astaroth (Rot). The rest are Egyn (Water), Azazel (Spirits), Beelzebub (Insects), and Iblis (Fire).

5. Rin started teaching himself to cook when he was just seven years old, using a foot stool to reach the counters. No one else in the abbey could cook all that well and he decided to help out that he would learn how to via mostly trial and error.

6. When he was little and in preschool, he sent a kid to the hospital by punching him repeatedly after the kid taunted him and called him "monster" and "demon". This was a common occurrence, Rin physically lashing out whenever people would say things like that about him, but it was that time specifically that Shiro told him if he kept doing these things he would wind up alone and miserable, and that he should use his strength for a gentler purpose by helping others so he could "become a cool guy all the ladies would love". It's something Rin took to heart and a path he tries to follow even if he fails frequently.

7. Yes, he does read drama mangas. What of it.

8. Being the son of the Lord of all demons technically makes Rin a prince. He hates this fact and loathes that other demons will call him "young master" or "prince".

9. His favorite food is Sukiyaki, but he has a fondness for icy pops (GoriGori-kun) as his favorite sweets, especially in the summer

10. He's almost 16 back home, but just had his 17th birthday in Vatheon. His "birthday" is December 27th, 1995. It's questionable if this is the actual date he was born, or just the day Shiro found him, Yukio and Yuri after the fact.

11. Chances are if he's anything like his siblings, he'll live hundreds of years, meaning he'll sadly outlive almost everyone he knows.

12. Aside from his obvious blue flames, his demonic traits include: super-human strength (he can lift a car without breaking a sweat), advanced healing, and enhanced hearing. Unlike Night, though, his sense of smell isn't nearly as developed.

13. Maka is his first relationship so far - back home in his previous school he was too much of an outcast to make friends let alone get a girlfriend. At True Cross he has more luck with friends, but many of the girls still thought he was weird, and were too busy fawning over Yukio anyway.

14. He has a lot of feline-like traits, and was even depicted as being "the Tiger to Bon's Dragon". His tail is expressive of his emotions, he enjoys sleeping a lot, his ears can even move a little when he's upset or really interested in something, and he's even been known to growl when angry, snarl when irritated, and can make a purr-like noise when his tail is pet.

15. He started out at 178cm (5'8") tall but has likely gained at least an inch of height since being in Vatheon.

Rand al'Thor | Wheel of Time

1. Rand is one span, one foot, and seven inches. One span is two paces, one pace is three feet. Fortunately a foot is only ten inches in their world...
2. He is a Blademaster. This means he defeated someone else who was a blademaster.
3. His side has/had a wound that is filled with 'essense of evil'. The first was caused by a staff made with Magic that came straight from the Dark One Himself, then he was stabbed with a dagger from a place that Darkspawn were too cowardly to set foot in because what would happen at night.
4. Rand was found on a snow-covered battlefield, on the edge of the Dragonmount (not-quite active volcano). Tam thought it was a wonder that he wasn't a frostbitten baby.
5. His adopted mother had redhair like him, so no one found him horribly odd in the Two Rivers.
6. His mother is Galad's mother. Galad's father is Elayne and Gawyn's father. So its not actually kissing cousins, despite his worries.
7. Rand has only one named human taller than him, an Aiel Chief. Loial was taller than him while sitting down, but that's because Loial is an Ogier.
8. Due to the nature of Lews Therin's sealing away of the Dark One, he caused the Breaking. The results are that Rand begins to hear Lews Therin in his head, a sign that he was going insane due to his magic.
9. Lews Therin loved to Know Things. Lews is the one who can draw, hums and pulls at his earlobes when looking at a pretty lady. Rand has no artistic skill, and is more inclined to make a fool of himself when he spots a pretty lady.
10. Rand accepts the fact that he has started digging himself a deeper pit in the bottom of the deep end; this insanity that is a "curse" from the Dark One has given him the knowledge to seal the Dark One better this time.
11. Rand's arms have iridecent dragon tattoos that wrap around his wrist and place their heads on the back of his hand. Only he has one hand left, and the tattoo on his left arm goes past the scars. . . .
12. His right hand has a brand of a heron on it, from when he lit a sword on fire to fight. It still hurts like it was recent, and is at least a year and a half old.
13. He knows a weave (spell) called Balefire. This spell, depending on how much is used, kills someone, and erases them so that some of their actions, prior to death, are undone. Rand has done this to erase an entire chapter of events.
14. He once had the idea that killing the Dark One was the way to keep the world safe. But there are plenty of sayings about 'cannot have light without darkness' for a reason. People simply aren't people without some of the darker things in life.
15. Rand only recently let go of all the people he was holding the memories of - the man had memorized the names of every single woman who died because of him/protecting him/trying to kill him/of causes other than natural in his general vicinity. In order.

Laharl | Disgaea

1. His ears are pierced.
2. His mother was human. The novels hint that she was Lady Guinevere.
3. The hair antennae are hereditary. His father had them, too.
4. He thinks zombie juice tastes good.
5. He does actually know how to cook. He just doesn't. Ever.
6. He can play the guitar.
7. He is a polyglot. Being 1313 means he's much older than most if not all modern languages.
8. He wears a pendant around his neck that once belonged to Flonne. It will burn anyone with a wicked heart. Tellingly, it doesn't burn him.
9. His scarf is prehensile.
10. He is "allergic" to busty women.
11. On the path to claiming his throne, he fought the Red Prism Ranger. He would have fought Yellow and Blue as well, but Etna shot them first.
12. He has trouble remembering people's names when he doesn't give a damn about them.
13. He considers fighting heroes part of his duty as Overlord.
14. Only magically-produced fire can harm him, and then not very much. His scarf is enchanted against it.
15. He considers 2 centimeters in a decade to be a significant growth spurt.

1. Bugs' name was an accident. He was created bu Ben 'Bugs' Hardaway and his sketch had the title "Bugs' Bunny".

2. In "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" Warner Brothers would only let Disney use Bugs if he and Mickey appeared in the same scene and had the exact same number of words/lines.

3. Bugs and Daffy were in a cartoon together BEFORE Chuck Jones' Hunting Trilogy. Porky's Pug Feat (1943) directed by Frank Tashlin!

4. (Head-canon) Bugs' doesn't understand things like death, regret or guilt. Because in his world they are only ever used as a punchline or completely ignored all together.

5. He has had seven different voice actor. In Vatheon he sounds (is voiced by) Mel Blanc.
*p.s. he is aware of this fact.**

6. Technically? Bugs' has 7 fathers. Ben Hardaway, Cal Dalton, Tex Avery, Bob Clampett, Friz Freleng, Chuck Jone and Robert McKimson. Each man added his own touch to the character that sticks with him today.

7. He can never lose. And boy does he know it!!!

8. As of 1943, Bugs is officially a Marine Master Sergeant.

9. Bugs was the first cartoon character to get his own postage stamp. Take dat, round ears.

10. From roughly 1964 until 1976 no Bugs' Bunny shorts/films were produced. Dunno why though...

11. (Headcanon) he doesn't understand modern comedy. At. All. Once he's actually gone through the 80's and such, he'll get but right now? Nope. Not funny, just awkward.

12. He considers Daffy Duck and Porky Pig friends in the sense that they don't try to kill him all the time.

13. Favorite super hero is Superman.

14. Can literally play any instrument ever. It doesn't make sense since he isn't from the B/W era but hey, he can.

1. Botan's height is not very consistent throughout the series, she's most often shown as being only a few inches shorter than Yusuke though, it can either be assumed that she's reasonably tall or Yusuke is just damn short.

I ballpark it her height at 5'5" at the very least.

2. Botan can mean "peony" and would make sense with the general theme the other reapers of the Spirit World seem to have (Hinageshi which is a red poppy and Ayame which is an iris; indeed you'll even notice in the manga that Ayame and Botan both have flowers as the back obi of their kimonos) however, her name is written as ぼたん which is hirigana. 牡丹 is the proper kanji one of them, anyway for Botan the flower (or rather, a Japanese tree peony).

3. Apparently ぼたん is button, too.

4. Her eye color in the manga might actually be blue considering the times Togashi has colored her with them (sob)

5. Speaking of her eyes, even though Botan is meant to be a Japanese woman (or spirit, whatever) Togashi clearly intended for her to appear "different" from the norm besides the hair and eye color. Her eyes in his "realistic" style are still much larger than usual.

6. Even though everyone recognizes her as Ms. Blue Hair, she was actually colored blonde once on the back of a cover. Sometimes blonde!Botan shows up in fanart.

7. Though Botan changes outfits quite a bit and seems to pay attention to modern human fashions (err...modern as far as the late 80s~early 90s) she's most recognizable in her kimono, which is a furisode-styled kimono. Mostly known to be worn by young women of marriageable age. So even for a spirit she is apparently quite young.

4. Baku beat up on him a lot when he was a kid too, though it was more a tough love thing because Zidane was kind of a handful. Nowadays Zidane certainly doesn't hold it against him, and agrees that it was probably necessary to keep him in line and out of too much trouble. It also hasn't stopped him from seeing Baku as a sort of father figure.

5. Even though he comes off as a bit goofy and airheaded at times he's actually very intelligent and surprisingly cultured when he wants to be. He is knowledgeable in literature, theater, poetry, and music. He even knows how to play a few instruments to some degree, the piano mostly, but he knows a little of both violin and cello. He even knows a variety of ballroom dances.

6. As there is only one regular female member of the theater troupe, whenever a play required more then one female character in a scene, or when Ruby was unable to perform, Zidane was forced to play the part of the girl. It's a very embarrassing memory for him and he'd rather not think about it thanks.

7. Zidane enjoys commenting on the tails of other people with tails, if only so he can affirm that his is still the best tail around.

3) Because everyone in the Junkyard are adults and are 'born' adults, Serph has no concept of what children are like. Thus, he treats children like small adults.

4) He is a cannibal, and while he doesn't like the fact he has to eat people to stay sane, people taste delicious.
