15 Facts about your character!

15 Facts About Your Character!
The premise of this meme is simple:
1. Make a separate comment for each of your character(s).
2. Share 15 (or less) facts about those character(s).
These facts can be anything- their sleeping habits, secrets they've never told anyone, their desires, headcanon you have for them. Go wild.

I rambled too whoops
I ballpark it her height at 5'5" at the very least.
2. Botan can mean "peony" and would make sense with the general theme the other reapers of the Spirit World seem to have (Hinageshi which is a red poppy and Ayame which is an iris; indeed you'll even notice in the manga that Ayame and Botan both have flowers as the back obi of their kimonos) however, her name is written as ぼたん which is hirigana. 牡丹 is the proper kanji
one of them, anywayfor Botan the flower (or rather, a Japanese tree peony).3. Apparently ぼたん is button, too.
4. Her eye color in the manga might actually be blue considering the times Togashi has colored her with them (sob)
5. Speaking of her eyes, even though Botan is meant to be a Japanese woman (or spirit, whatever) Togashi clearly intended for her to appear "different" from the norm besides the hair and eye color. Her eyes in his "realistic" style are still much larger than usual.
6. Even though everyone recognizes her as Ms. Blue Hair, she was actually colored blonde once on the back of a cover. Sometimes blonde!Botan shows up in fanart.
7. Though Botan changes outfits quite a bit and seems to pay attention to modern human fashions (err...modern as far as the late 80s~early 90s) she's most recognizable in her kimono, which is a furisode-styled kimono. Mostly known to be worn by young women of marriageable age. So even for a spirit she is apparently quite young.
8. Her hobbies are cruising or floating around in the sky (yes this was stated in canon)
9. Her bloodtype, age and date of birth are unknown. Though she's been working with Koenma the longest and he's about 800 years old, so it can be assumed she's well over 100 years old.
10. Nobody knows anything about Botan, and she doesn't say anything about herself, though she is known to do regular things even in the Spirit World like go to karaoke bars and drink canned green tea. As for her past or where she came from, nope zilch. Although it's possible she's been alive for so long she doesn't actually remember anymore.
11. Whether a ferrywoman is born or created is not known, obviously. Though I don't like the theory that Botan was a human but died and then became a ferrywoman. Considering the Spirit World is a bureaucracy it seems more like something she actually actively applied for (like with a written application and everything) so the suffering of souls at death could be eased by someone with a cheery attitude.
12. Botan spent some time in the United Kingdom when she first became a ferrywoman; London more specifically. She learned English there. And yes that is my justification for her dub accent.
13. She doesn't actually like the term "shinigami" being applied to herself, the concept of a "death GOD" was invented by humans only and putting herself on the level of a god seems very disingenuous to her.
14. Botan did have a black kimono at one point like Ayame does, but she found it to be a depressing color and sort of frightening to children, so she asked to change the color.
15. She has a high threshold of tolerance for alcohol. Yes, this is relevant. Though she'll only drink with company and just sticks to green tea otherwise.
