The original idea was I was supposed to put this up every two months

Squall Leonhart discovers Homestuck.
What?
This is the PIMP MY CANON meme, where you have the opportunity to show off your canon and perhaps even find a new one to get into!
Want to share the glory of demonic butlers? Do you need to tell people exactly what a Lombax is and how cute their tails are? (Seriously their tails are super adorable) Here is the place to do it!
OR!
Perhaps your character was given the Shoulder Touch of Camraderie™ from Serph and now you can't stop thinking about
How do I PIMP MY CANON?
In whatever ways you deem fit. Write summaries, link videos, screenshots, fanart, playthroughs, whatever you want! Add on to your friends' comments with additional stuff of your own!
The only thing I ask is that you not put too many large images in your post (if you have to put in a lot, make some of them links!) and link to videos rather than embed them. This is so the page doesn't take for-freaking-ever to load and doesn't become inaccessible due to oversaturation of gifs and stuff.
You may also want to keep spoilers to a minimum, but that's up to you.
Also make sure your coding works, because nothing sucks more than making a totally awesome ad for your canon only to have a missing bold tag mess it all up. Or you could edit. That works too.
Levi, why didn't you put this up last month?
Because I'm a dummy who forgets things.

Ao no Exorcist/Blue Exorcist
BUT NO SERIOUSLY Ao no Exorcist is pretty awesome. And it's getting a dub release this month so if subs are not your cup of tea you can listen to Bryce Papenbrook and Johnny Yong Bosh voice the most bad ass twin brothers ever.

Actually, let me get the right account.

Right.
Kuroshitsuji... or as it's been called in America, Black Butler is a tale of revenge, of intrigue and of romance... or so the fangirls would like you to believe.
Basically, you take Sherlock Holmes, age him down and give him an Alfred instead of a Watson with him and you pretty much have Kuroshitsuji.
Not to mention it has zombies on the Titanic.
FREAKING.
ZOMBIES.
ON THE FUCKING.
TITANIC.

Well, not exactly the Titanic but close enough.

Final Fantasy VIII: What is even going on
...or maybe you'll be contractually bound to a young teenage girl who doesn't really know what she's doing.
Final Fantasy VIII (which celebrated its 13th anniversary for its North American release yesterday!) for the original Playstation is the eighth installment of SquareEnix's widely popular RPG series. While it has plenty of Final Fantasy staples - chocobos, summons, the end of the world looming, it's considered a big departure from the series and most other JRPG style games for its unique Junction mechanic, which will either be the bane of a player's existence, or used to completely cheese the game and make it ridiculously easy.
The game's plot is about an evil sorceress who wants to take over the world! Or something like that. FFVIII is a bit lacking in the "coherent story" department. But that's okay.
What FFVIII is really about is Squall Leonhart, the main character. The game dives a lot into his inner thoughts and how he struggles to interact with others after years of spurning relationships of any kind, deal with rapid changes in his life as more and more responsibility and expectations get piled onto him, and perhaps most importantly, for the first time in his life, truly look at and understand himself. The game is more about the characters and their relationships than the plot, which mostly serves as a means to drive their interactions.
It may be the most divisive game in the Final Fantasy series, but love it or hate it, I think it's worth experiencing. After all, it has dogs that can be used as arm cannons and spunky girls who enjoy trains and blowing things up in pretty explosions.
Also here is an obligatory gif.

Homestuck: how do you even explain this
It's a canon where I can app a guy who has, so far, only appeared in one panel and doesn't even have any speaking lines but we might be meeting his previous reincarnation self (???) at some point who even knows
At least the fandom makes very pretty art and music when it isn't being huge and terrifying?
Wow I cannot sell this at all

Warning: Those using Homestuck are advise to take it in slow doses. Overdosing on Homestuck can lead to headaches, confusion, and little sleep. Please use Homestuck with caution and do not operate heavy machinery while under the influence of Homestuck.

Digital Devil Saga: Serph is actually a silent protagonist
What does it mean to live and be human?
Digital Devil Saga, by Atlus, the game company that feeds on its fans' delicious, delicious, tears, is a turn based JRPG style game with a story told over two games for the Playstation 2. Digital Devil Saga
is the fanservice gamedraws heavily on themes from Hinduism, the concepts of karma and reincarnation playing large roles. Digital Devil Saga takes the "Press-Turn" battle system of Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne and improves on it. The game encourages exploitation of enemy weaknesses to gain the advantage in battle, but beware: the enemies can do the same thing to you and you can die a terrible, horrible death because AUGH NO STOP HITTING MY WEAKNESSES.It also features really really sexy guitar music.
In a strange world called the Junkyard, it rains nonstop and it's strangely devoid of most things - plants, animals, those kinds of things. The people of the Junkyard live in Tribes, with the six strongest ones known as the Ruling Tribes. And the law of the land, as commanded by the Karma Temple is simple: fight. Tribes must fight for territory and when the leader of one Tribe is killed, his or her Tribe must surrender and be assimilated into the winning Tribe. When one Ruling Tribe has dominated the other five, they have rightfully won the ultimate reward:
The right to leave the Junkyard and go to Nirvana, a beautiful paradise.
Digital Devil Saga follows the Embryon Tribe, which is led by Serph. The people of the Junkyard, Serph and his Tribe included, have known only literally one thing: fighting. They are strange, emotionless beings with empty eyes who wage war on each other, for that is the Karma Temple decreed.
Until one day, it all changes. An unidentified object with a naked girl inside it suddenly appears in the middle of a skirmish between the Embryon and rival Tribe Vanguards. And in an instant, every person in the Junkyard is infected with a new power - the power of demons. Demons are powerful beings with unique abilities and capable of magic.
They are also very, very hungry. And the only thing that can sate that hunger is the flesh of other sentient beings.
But with this terrible curse comes a blessing - the people of the Junkyard change, developing distinct personalities and obtain the ability to feel.
Suddenly their eyes don't look so empty anymore.
oh my god i spent way too much time on this

DIGITAL DEVIL SAGA
CANNIBAL DEMONS, great butts, way too fucking sad.
It captures the essence of this series pretty well. Digital Devil Saga spans two games, and, like many Atlus RPGs, will eat your life away if you let it, with how addicting it is. You play as Serph, the leader of the Embryon in a dog-eat-dog world known as the Junkyard, and your only known objective is to survive on the blood of the other rival tribes (hence: cannibal) and reach "Nirvana."
You gain the power to transform into a demon, as does the rest of your tribe and literally everyone else, and gain all the strengths and weaknesses of one. And in return, you must feed it, or risk going completely and utterly berserk.
HAVE FUN.
Also, you get to punch out god. What more do you want?
Don't be so hard to please, okay.

Tales of Innocence: for those who like level grinding
And then the boy meets a girl, saves her and gets into a lot of trouble which results in him going on the journey of his life, where he'll encounter a delinquent knight, a yondere ninja stalker, a hitman who's afraid of heights, a sneaky priestess, a thirteen-year old orphan who likes mothering our hero, a dog boy, a psycho serial killer and a lady who holds a grudge against everything and everyone in the world. And the world itself. And probably the whole universe too.
Aaand, well. All of them had a past life (and so they have lots of depressing memories from the past).
Oh, and the heroine is a tsundare and likes bullying our hero.
Oh and one more thing! I hope you like level grinding.
...Okay. I'm gonna be more serious now. It's a great game, with characters you're just gonna love. Even though it's a Japanese only Tales, there is an English patch made by Absolute Zero, so... go play this game right now, if you haven't already!

The Legend of the Legendary Heroes
Aka Densetsu no Yuusha no Densetsu, LOLHeroes is a comedy series about dango, afternoon naps, and idealism, where the characters learn to persevere in the face of adversary and hopefully save the world.
... It also gets compared to this series due to apparently possessing similar undertones.
Because yeah, when I say 'comedy', I mean that it really likes its mood whiplash so it technically does have humour when people aren't dying/killing each other/doing morally questionable things/angsting/having horrible things done to them/etc., and by 'idealism', I mean that it does not work and people learn that the hard way, and, well. It is about dango and afternoon naps. And persevering in the face of adversary because yeaaaaaah there is a lot of that. And they're trying to save the world, but it hasn't gotten done in 22 volumes (if anything, they've just made it worse, but, uh. It gets worse before it gets better?).
THE PLOT IS... DIFFICULT TO EXPLAIN but there is a lot of war and politics and suffering and racism (and ho yay). And killing. It's kind of inevitable when half the cast are psychopaths. Overall, like I said, it's about people trying to maintain hope when the world is pretty damn determined to crush it and change things for the better, usually via very extreme methods.
It's a light novel series that is finally being translated again here. It's also got a million mostly untranslated manga adaptations and an anime adaptation based off the first series, so you should probably just watch that first as the original series hasn't been entirely translated yet. And if you happened to click on that link and are going ???, there's basically the main series, which consists of the original and its sequel, and two side series. And Sion Note, which I think came with something else.
BE WARNED THAT IF YOU WATCH THE ANIME you will be very confused by the end because not only is it a compressed version of the novels anyway, you need to read/research the sequel to realize what the hell was going on. Yep.
Also, it has really nice magic.

Loonatics Unleashed make it stop
The exciting debut trailer!
Uh huh. Most of this was scrapped for the actual show I swear.
Even though it’s “technically” a continuation of the Looney Tunes, sort of, Loonatics Unleashed is more of a spiritual successor to SWAT Kats, and features character designs from the same artist. The plot is that a meteor has struck the city-planet of Acmetropolis and knocked it into another orbit somehow or something idk. More pertinently, the meteor has gifted various individuals with ~super powers~. Six such individuals are descendants of the original Looney Tunes (never actually directly brought up in the show) and form a crimefighting team under the leadership of the mysterious
ZordonZadavia. Naturally every single other person affected by the meteor turns to crime and 26 episodes of villain of the week and bad puns follow, with the most mild of all senses of continuity.IT’S PRETTY RIDICULOUS

Fairly Oddparents
Why you get -
Main Theme
A ten - year old kid, uses magical fairies magic to deal with problems before spiraling out of control! Not to mention as well, dealing with one of his many everyday enemies. These include school bully Francis, sadistic and manipulative babysitter Vicky, and fairy-obsessed Sadist Teacher Mr. Crocker. Along with the frequent lessons on, be careful what you wish you.
Comes ~ The Fairly Oddparents! By Butch Hartman.
Yes, Butch Hartman! Creator also of Danny Phantom
Not to mention Timmy's other lessons that he learns, yes for a very crack show, their are lessons! Such as;
Loving someone for what's inside no matter how hideous they are on the ourside. [Spaced Out]
Don't time travel. Just don't. [Father Time, Secert Origin of Denzel Crocker]
Don't take credit for something you didn't do. [Dream Goat]
Always stand up and face your fears. [Timvisible]
Their life isn't easier then your life. [A Mile in My Shoes]
'The Truth' and The Truth [Abra Catastrophe
And many many more!
Featuring the voices of;
Tara Strong (Twilight Sparkle) as Timmy Turner
Carlos Jaime Alazraqui(Rocko) as Denzel Crocker, Dinkleberg and Juandissimo
Daran Norris (Knock Out) as Mr. Turner, Cosmo and Jorgen Von Strangle
AND MORE!
The mun highly recommands the first 5 seasons of Fairly Oddparents, really you can skip seasons 6 - 8, you're not missing anything.
However, the live action movie is worth taking a look at. Considering it's not bad for a cartoon to real life film and the characaters are written how they use to be back in seasons 1 - 5.
FOP, is on Itunes, as well as Netflicks and NickToons :3
Not to mention some rather catchy songs;
Shiny Teeth and Me
Wish Come True
Great to Be A Guy
Tales of Hearts
And that's only the first half of the game.
Sounds like some cheesy romance anime, right? Well guess what. It's not. THIS IS. TALES OF HEARTS.
This is one of those installments into the Tales series that was never localized, and so there's a lot of people even within the fandom who know the game exists, but has no idea what it's about.
So. Any Questions?
I'm gonna go get McDonald's Breakfast now. B)

Okay, but seriously: It's an in-depth game full of some incredible character development, a main cast of flawed but complicated characters, and lots of pulling of heartstrings. It's Tales which means lots of travel and level-grinding somewhere along the way, but it's a pretty awesome ride, nonetheless.
Tales of Vesperia
He ends up getting mixed up in EVERYONE ELSES TROUBLES EVER. Including one tiny coward who loves oversized weapons, a snarky mage with really low social skills, a fishy archer with a big purple coat, a
elfkrityan with an aversion to proper clothing. At least, in the localized, 360 version.in the ps3 version, they also gain a loli pirate, and that Best Friend Knight. His best friend doesn't really like that he's getting involved in all these other people's problems, which is probably an accurate reaction. Seeing as solving everyone's problems results in two murders, the deaths of three guild leaders, and the loss of one of the better brigade captains, as well as some destabilization of the government system.
and a giant space octopus.
Compared to the other Tales Games Heroes, we have a much darker one here in Yuri. and it is glorious.
Also the capital is a giant cake city.
no subject
Also, there are many funny costumes you can collect for the party.
Also also, this guy here makes an appearance as a bonus boss in the arena. Lasers ensue.
Final Fantasy X
But no, it's a good game that explores life and death, but also change vs. stagnation and a lot of Star Wars parallels. The characters are well-developed, and you get to summon Aeons and kind of "choose" how to level up your character (there's really not much choice in it, but you can teach a character the skills the other characters use).
And Tidus is voiced by a Lombax.
The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya
Also, Kyon the most deadpan of deadpan snarkers and the poor schmuck who has to keep the young lady mentioned in the name of the series, Haruhi Suzumiya, from being too bored or from finding out about said fantastic things.
Why? BECAUSE. watch the show.
honestly I can't explain it better, also Ryoko was only in a few episodes before dying and in the movie but it's an alternate her? I guess.
WIBBLY WOOBLY TIMEY WIMEY stuff too, because what is a timeline.
Re: The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya
Re: The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya
Dragon Quest VIII
Most of this trailer sums up the plot without spoiling it too much, but I'm going to add a little more.
You play as a silent protagonist (canonically named Eight in Japan) who is a soldier for the King of Trodain. You/Eight with King Trode (the troll guy) and his daughter Princess Medea (the horse) set out on a journey to lift a curse placed upon not only the two of them, but the entire Kingdom of Trodain (except you/Eight for story reasons). The culprit is Dhoulmagus (the evil jester) who stole the Sceptre/Scepter of Trodain and used it to cause the curse in the first place. And as the trailer showed, you gain companions along the way (Yangus, Jessica, and Angelo) to help on your quest, each with their own reason for going after Dhoulmagus.
And that's about it since I'm not going to spoil the rest of the plot, because it's a really good game and everyone should play it. Oh, I also forgot to mention that if you couldn't tell, the character/monster designer for this game (and previous ones) is the great Akira Toriyama. Yes, that Toriyama. The same guy who created Dragon Ball, Dr. Slump, and many other works. You also get silly attack names like Lady's Thong, Sexy Beam, Sarcastic Snigger, Underpants Dance, and many more. There's also THE PUFF PUFF; as seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=161W2bWG1Fg
There's also amazing voice acting, the ability to go super saiyan (aka super high tension mode), an orchestral soundtrack (yes, every piece of music in this game is an orchestra), and slapstick comedy with dramatic plotpoints that you don't seen coming. There's also awesome gameplay mechanics like an old traditional rpg (think back to older final fantasys for example). So if you like all of that and more, I again emphasize that you really should try this game out.
