Ah. For a moment I thought it was from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

He really is a sweetheart, if one that did earn that classification of "tragic villain." Given that Dhaos isn't one to randomly offer to teach people magic (or much of anything for that matter), at minimum we'd at least need Fai to express an interest in magic. Probably not much more than that is needed though since he does find kids much easier to trust than adults.

I think we can make this happen. I just had him post on the network asking who all could use magic and he'll probably be looking for books in the library/ Nostalgia Nook that can help him.

Huzzah! I've only gotten through series 1 myself, but it's good to know that I correctly identified the style. :D

Dhaos'll have missed the network post since I'm still mid-hiatus, but if he's still looking for books the 16th or a bit later, that would probably work. He can even get those books that're way too high up for Fai to reach since he might very well be the tallest non-Troll in Vatheon, hahaha.

Haha Araki's style is pretty hard to miss. I've read everything but series 8. I hope you like it! It's one of those series that while it toys with my emotions (and usually kills off my favorite characters) I have a lot of fun memories from talking about it with close friends.

I'll try to remember to put something up around that time then. Fai does have a bad habit of climbing shelves instead of asking for help.
